Val d’Isère is one of Consensio’s favourite ski resorts for good reason. More British holiday makers choose Val d’Isère as their ski destination of choice than any other resort. This might have something to do with the extensive 300km of perfectly groomed pistes, the 78 lifts or the standing height of 1850m in the beautiful town.
The first lift inVal d’Isère opened in 1936, and since then the lift infrastructure has continued evolving year on year, with the newest development being the Solaise lift. To partner this, Val d’Isère now claims the largest snowmaking facility in Europe, allowing them to offer a snow guarantee, with over 900 cannons which cover 40% of the entire ski area. To top all of this off, they also hold a Green Globe Certificate – recognising their environmentally aware developments.

Having operated in Val d’Isère for many years, we have curated a partner network of top suppliers and reputable businesses. Our well-connected concierge team have their finger on the pulse of what’s new and unique, and are equipped with extensive knowledge on how to access everything from the finest dining experiences and best après-ski to family friendly fun and suitable corporate activities. As such, we’ve racked their brains and rounded up the ultimate Val d’Isère resort guide for Winter 2018.

ACTIVITIES

Whatever point throughout the ski season you find yourself in Val d’Isère, these activities are always on offer in resort and you can find all of the information needed below. If you’re staying in one of our chalets or apartments, pre-arrival or in-resort concierge will be able to assist you with any information or booking requirements. However, for many activities it is advisable to plan ahead and book before arriving in resort to avoid disappointment during peak times.

Snowshoe in The Vanoise National Park.
Great for non-skiers, or if you fancy a day out of ski boots. The other big pull to snowshoeing is the access you can gain to more remote areas! Discover the hidden gems of the valley which can’t be seen from the piste and follow animal tracks. Val d’Isère borders The Vanoise National Park, France’s first National Park, making it the perfect destination for an exploratory day in the wilderness.

Price: Snowshoe Hire for €15 per day from various ski hire shops.
We recommend using a guide to get the most out of your experience:
