Frequently Asked Questions

  • If your CV is selected for an interview you will be contacted by Heather or Sarah to arrange an interview. We work from Monday to Friday but can always be flexible to work around your busy schedule.

You will receive an invite to interview by email which will include a link to our website. Take a look at our resorts and properties and start thinking about where you would like to work.

Your interview will be over a video call and it’s a chance for us to get to know each other, so please ask any questions that come to mind, whether this will be your 1st or 10th winter season!

If it goes well your second interview will be a few days later with a member of our operations team, another chance for us to get to know you and for you to ask any questions that you forgot to ask in your first interview.

Now we make our decision! You will always hear from us within a few days of your second interview. Even if you haven’t been successful we’ll provide you with feedback to assist you with your search for your perfect role.

  • We start to accept applications in June, but we’re always happy to hear from candidates at any time of the year and if there isn’t a role for you at the moment we can keep your application on file.

To apply for a role, please send us your up-to-date CV with a short cover email about yourself and the role you’re applying for. You can send your CV to jobs@consensiochalets.co.uk

  • We offer a competitive salary along with a package that makes relocating to the French Alps for the winter as straightforward as possible. You’ll be provided with an airport transfer to your resort of work, comfortable staff accommodation, meals whilst working, a ski pass and end of season bonus. In some roles you can also earn tips, these can be very generous and are a gift from our guests to the team to show appreciation for your hard work.

  • You will need to be eligible to work in France on a French contract. This can either be with an EU passport or a French Carte de Sejour. Following the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union, we can no longer accept applicants with a UK passport, but we hope that this will change in the future.

  • Our training courses start in November and our chalets close in April. You will be given exact dates once you have been allocated to a resort as some close later. If you aren’t able to commit from the beginning of the season it is still worth applying as we sometimes recruit new team members during the season.

  • Yes! We want our teams to be happy with where they are working and during your interview will discuss your preferences with you. If you’re not sure which resort you’d like to work in we can give you some information that may help you to make your decision.  To guarantee that you get your first choice we advise you to apply as early as possible.

  • Once your start date is confirmed you can book your flight to Geneva, we will send a transfer to collect you and bring you to your resort to begin the season. A travel contribution of €220 is made at the end of the season.

  • The common language in our properties is English, however, French will help. If it is essential it will be mentioned in the job description.

  • All towels and linen will be provided in your staff accommodation, you will also be provided with a cleaning pack of essentials when you first move in.

  • Due to the busy nature of our winter season, we can’t guarantee that you’ll be able to take holiday. You will be able to take two days off each week to enjoy your surroundings and make the most of the mountains. Your holiday pay will be paid at the end of your contract.

  • We require all of our employees to have held a full and valid driving licence for at least two years. This is so that you can drive our vehicles, whether you’re covering a chauffeur shift or running an errand. All of our employees are provided with winter driving training and it is a requirement of your role that you pass that training.

  • A lot of our staff accommodations have laundry facilities in them, if they don’t you’ll be able to do your laundry in the chalet, just speak to your chalet manager to find out when the best part of the week is to use the machines.

  • We provide food whilst working which means that when you’re off you can either use the cooking facilities in your accommodation or experience some of the brilliant local cafes and restaurants.

  • We don’t have an exact uniform that we ask you to wear, instead, we have guidelines that we ask you to follow, these will be sent to you when you are offered the position. You will be provided with a black outdoor jacket from Planks.

  • Most of our staff accommodations are within walking distance of your place of work, if it isn’t then you will be able to use a company vehicle to either drive yourself or take a lift.

  • We are open to applicants including couples and friends, let us know when you apply and we can ensure that you are given shared accommodation and if it’s your preference, be placed in the same property for work.

  • We love our furry friends at Consensio. Sometimes it is possible to bring your dog but usually only if you’re in a position that comes with your own apartment. • Our season runs from November to April, if you are only available for part of the season, please mention this in your application as we do sometimes need short-term team members.
