It’s been a big and exciting week for us at Consensio with the official launch of our Après-Ski collaboration with SUSHISAMBA London. If you haven’t already caught the news on social media, this winter we will be enhancing the Après-Ski experience for our guests by offering a delicious selection of three SUSHISAMBA signature cocktails designed by their head of cocktail and spirit development, Richard Woods (AKA “The Cocktail Guy”). Consensio’s executive head chef – Ryan Mclean, will consult with the SUSHISAMBA team to create some inspired accompanying canapes.

Overlooking London’s dazzling night lights, amongst Japanese cherry blossoms and walls canvassed in urban street art, we were joined by some of the UK’s top luxury lifestyle and travel press. With Richard on hand to discuss his inspired flavour combinations, guests sampled the cocktails that will be served in Consensio chalets for Winter 2017/18. The menu included:

Kaffirinha: Fragrant, Powerful
A creative take on a Brazilian classic. Fragrant Kaffir lime leaves infused in cachaça, churned with lime and sugar. Served short over crushed ice.

Samba Sour: Fresh, Citrus, Velvety 
A modern Pisco Sour for the urban Pisco Sour drinker. Pisco Brandy and maraschino liqueur is shaken hard with yuzu, egg white and a turmeric infusion. Served ‘up’.

Seasonal Sake Spritz: Fresh, Acidity, Fruity
Sake, St. Germain, plum and fig vinegar. Served long and spritzed with soda.

Whilst Cocktails were most certainly the focal point of the evening, the food was undeniably delicious; bite-sized yellowtail crispy taquitos with avocado & roasted corn miso, Wagyu Gyoza and Eggplant dressed in mustard miso – and that’s without even getting started on the Sushi.

Après-ski has long been established as a right of passage on a ski holiday – and for some, a ski holiday will consist of a little more après than it does ski! Increasingly, our guests wish to return to the comfort of their chalet to enjoy an intimate après-ski experience with friends or family. Handpicked in the best locations our chalets are destinations in their own right, with state of the art facilities and unrivalled service. With sweeping mountains views and burning log fires, the cosy retreat of a warm luxury chalet is understandably an idyllic alpine setting for a post-ski cocktail.

Sharing our passion for food and drink, SUSHISAMBA’s original fusion of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian culture mixes up some unforgettable flavour combinations. Boldly elegant, Richard’s sophisticated cocktails will bring an edgy twist to our selection of complimentary beverages. It is no small mean feat to create a true replication of ‘The Cocktail Guy’s’ creations. As such, Consensio’s hand-picked chalet teams will undergo extensive training led by SUSHISAMBA that will get underway later this month.
