The Top Three Ski Resorts in France are Announced
The Luxury Ski Insights 2022 report has revealed the top ski resorts in France.
According to last year’s winter holiday sales data provided by luxury travel agents across the European ski industry, the most popular ski resorts in France are:
3. Méribel, France
In third place is Méribel, it lies at the heart of Les Trois Vallees making it an excellent base from which to explore over 600km of piste with limitless powder opportunities. From La Chaudanne, each gondola leads into a different valley; take the Burgin Saulire to access the fashionable Courchevel, or Tougnète for the high-altitude skiing of Val Thorens. The area is immense and with the best lift system found anywhere, skiers of all abilities can explore each of the three valleys in one single day without ever having to remove their skis.
2. Courchevel, France
In second place is Courchevel. For many years Courchevel has attracted a fashionable crowd of the rich and famous and this trend remains unchanged today. As a resort, it has few Alpine rivals for comfort and cuisine and is home to some of the most luxurious ski chalets in the Alps. Courchevel forms a part of the renowned Trois Vallées – the largest lift-connected ski area in the world. It does not take long to realise why this resort has legions of followers who simply won’t go anywhere else. Superb skiing aside, there is an abundance of upmarket boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants.
1. Val d’Isère
The most popular ski resort in France for the winter of 21/22 is Val d’Isère. It is knowns as a ‘must-ski’ resort and is linked with Tignes, a high-altitude domain with an unrivalled snow record from late November until May. With its extensive on and off-piste runs, Val d’Isère boasts the title ‘The greatest skiing arena in Europe, if not the World’. Coupled with the luxury ski chalets and apartments available in Val d’Isère, it is no surprise that this is such a popular resort amongst snow lovers.
