Marco Polo has been nominated as France’s Best Ski Chalet in the World Ski Awards, having won the coveted award twice previously, and with good reason. This is the ultimate chalet for people seeking a holiday which truly has it all. We posted earlier in the year about the Val d’Isère chalet’s bespoke Tèlècabine housing the boot room, and now we’ve had a first peek at the newly created Racing Game and we’re really excited to be able to share it with you here.
The owner’s intention was to create something which would bring all generations of the family together in a competitive experience; they searched all over the world to find this, and finally found the number one specialist slot car maker living in France.
This wooden track is one of a kind racing game, totally bespoke to fit into the stone-walled indoor garden between the gym and games room in this luxurious chalet. A floor of fun, so to speak, there is something for everybody on the ground floor, adding yet another element to your perfect holiday. The large windowed ceiling in the room perfectly sets the light for the track and windows surrounding the room frame it perfectly for family and friends to watch you go head to head. Suitable for players of all age, this is not your average Scalextric!
The first thing that caught our eye was the control switch board for the game; not for the faint hearted this racing game is a complex piece of engineering which our staff are fully trained to set up for you.
With a range of cars from your original Formula 1 design car to a Rally-style car, you can pick how you want to take to the 25m long track with 7 of your competitors!
Scalextric may conjure up images of childhood spent just holding down your control and watching your car run around a simple track for hours on end. Think again; this intelligent game has a chronometric system which includes a pit lane for you to return your car to, and no less than 15 zones where you can overtake your opponents to fight for the lead to become Chalet Champion, and return from your luxury ski holiday with a badge of pride.
Complete with trees, tyre barriers, a set of race lights and even miniature track assistants holding flags, nothing has been omitted from this track to make it the most real-life experience possible.
This addition sets Marco Polo miles ahead with it’s Chalet Toys, from the gold-plated pool and in-house fromagerie cave, to this bespoke, full sized Tèlècabine installed earlier in the year. The incredible bubble lift replica is the ski boot room’s neighbour, designed and made exclusively for the chalet as a ski-technician area, perfect for boot fittings, adjustments and having your skis serviced, ready for the next morning.
All Consensio holidays are bespoke, but Marco Polo, in Val d’Isère, takes bespoke to a new level with 1000m2 of the most exclusive features you can imagine. Christian Lacroix designed the gold-leaf swimming pool with drop-down movie screen. The chalet comes with an in-house spa therapist, and three treatment rooms. Marco Polo has two bars for you to enjoy your boutique Gin and Tonic or sample one of the cocktails from Consensio’s collaboration with SUSHISAMBA. This chalet sleep s 10 adults and 4 children and comes complete with a team of seven Consensio staff, there to create your ultimate personalised ski experience.
